Ypres and Tyne Cot

The Menin Gate in Ypres (or Ieper in Dutch) in the West Flanders province of Belgium is a memorial to more than 54,000 Commonwealth servicemen who died in the Ypres Salient during the Great War, whose graves are not known.
Bruges

Laura's faultless navigational skills took us to the door of the
Golden Tree Hotel in Bruges (or Brugge), the capital of West Flanders. This gave us a whole day and two evenings to sample all that Bruges had to offer: tremendous medieval architecture, beer and waffles!

From Bruges we headed for the Netherlands, following Google Maps' bizarre directions around Antwerp, en route to our final destination:

Making a Splash

One of the main attractions of the park is the Aqua Mundo water centre and Flow Rider.

Apart from the pool, there were plenty of other opportiunities for the kids to burn up the calories. The climbing wall was particularly impressive.
Escape from De Eemhof

Perimeter security wasn't as tight as we'd expected, and we were able to tunnel out of Stalag Luft De Eemhof on a few occasions!
