Our last full day, gave us our one and only experience of the New York subway. First (and last) stop was the American Museum of Natural History. We were so keen, we arrived half an hour before the museum opened. This gave us the opportunity to watch about 30 'takes' as some TV presenter invited his audience to join him in the museum. He then drove off in his BMW.
The museum was big - no chance of seeing it all without a mutiny - but definitely worth the visit.
Following our hotdogs from the vendor outside the museum, we headed into Central Park on a diagonal route for the south east corner, and a stroll down 5th Avenue. FAO Schwarz was underwhelming; Tiffanys', intimidating - where were those price tags?!
