Gardening Leave (March 2016)
Updated by Richard on Thursday 22nd March 2018 at 09:58 PM
With a little more time on my hands for a few months this year, I've taken more interest in the garden than previously. If only I had green fingers and we could keep the slugs out!
Kitchen (May 2015)
Posted by Richard on Friday 27th May 2016 at 11:18 PM
With costs escalating when we had our
extension built in 2003, we were a little more careful with our spend on the kitchen. Twelve years later, with a few niggles that I'd been 'a bit slow' in fixing, Laura somehow managed to convince me that we needed an all new kitchen!
Living Room (March 2013)
Updated by Richard on Monday 30th May 2016 at 12:11 PM
Our next project was the living room. We started in March, earlier than planned, thanks to the immediate availability of the builders to remove the fireplace and lay the flooring.
The Great Outdoors (February 2013)
Updated by Richard on Thursday 7th August 2014 at 04:37 PM
A few photos of wildlife taken in the garden of IceColdHQ this year. To be fair, it is a small garden and we don't get anything much bigger than bees in it!
Our Bedroom (July 2012)
Updated by Richard on Sunday 30th September 2012 at 06:26 PM
Apologies, if you came to this page expecting to see some action shots from the bedroom. Alas, there is no photographic evidence of me decorating!
En suite (May 2012)
Posted by Richard on Friday 25th May 2012 at 10:19 AM
OK, so it may have taken me 4 months to finish the
bathroom, but was that any reason for Laura to call in the professionals for our en suite?
Birds, bugs and buds (April 2012)
Updated by Richard on Saturday 10th August 2013 at 09:18 PM
Excitement in the gardens of IceCold HQ this year as a pair of starlings took up residence in the eves of the house behind us.
Wee Beasties (June 2010)
Posted by Richard on Tuesday 21st December 2010 at 06:16 PM
My attempts at photographing wee beasties in the garden in June and July.
Winter Wonderland (January 2010)
Posted by Richard on Sunday 13th June 2010 at 01:56 PM
When I posted pictures of the
snow in 2008 it seemed to be an exception. This was the third year in a row! And even more dramatically than usual, the country ground to a halt...
Wildlife (March 2009)
Updated by Richard on Tuesday 1st December 2009 at 10:26 PM
With
February's snow gone, it was back into the garden by the end of March, and our first BBQ of the year in April. Incredibly, the weather is still going strong in July and we've hosted our first family of hedgehogs!
Let It Snow (February 2009)
Posted by Richard on Saturday 28th February 2009 at 12:40 PM
More snow in Knaphill - in fact the worst the county has seen in 18 years. Surrey closed its schools for three days; the kids were gutted!
Flora and Fauna (June 2008)
Updated by Richard on Wednesday 31st December 2008 at 12:11 AM
After recent trips to
Wisley and
Chelsea, I've come over all botanical ... and even a little zoological! So here are a few pics from our little garden.
Global Warming (April 2008)
Posted by Richard on Sunday 6th April 2008 at 01:40 PM
After a really mild winter, the snow came down in April - and lasted just long enough for a snowball fight!
Gardener's Question Time (June 2007)
Updated by Richard on Saturday 27th October 2007 at 10:19 PM
The bamboo is starting to take over (we're hoping to get a pet panda next year), so how come the acer has almost died? :-(
Bathroom (October 2005)
Posted by Richard on Friday 8th December 2006 at 12:00 AM
I came down with another bad case of DIY-itis in the autumn of 2005. It only lasted a couple of weeks, but by that time the family bathroom didn't have a bath. Or basin. Or toilet, tiles, plasterboard, lights, ...
Garden (July 2005)
Updated by Richard on Tuesday 27th September 2005 at 12:00 AM
To mark our 10th summer in Knaphill, we decided it was time to do something with the garden - at least that part that hadn't been buried under the extension!
Extension (May 2003)
Updated by Richard on Saturday 22nd November 2003 at 01:53 AM
The kids had already ruined and then outgrown our garden so we decided to build over it!
