Mont Tremblant, Quebec
Posted by Richard on Tuesday 21st December 2010 at 07:13 PM
Just one night in Ottawa and we were off again. Next stop the Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec. Debbie and Bill treated us to a couple of nights in a fabulous condo right on the slopes.
We thank you ... but where was the snow?!
White Water Rafting on the Rouge River, Quebec
Posted by Richard on Tuesday 21st December 2010 at 07:18 PM
One of the highlights of our trip was white water rafting on the Rouge River with
Rafting Nouveau Monde. It has to be said that Laura wasn't that keen at the start, but there was a noticeable improvement in her enthusiasm when we were introduced to our guide, Alex.
Mer Bleue, Ontario

After a lazy day or two R&R at Debbie and Bill's we headed off to explore a couple of local conservation areas. First up, Mer Bleue. We'd been here before at
Christmas 2006. It was a bit warmer this time!
Petrie Island, Ontario

Petrie Island on the Ottawa River to the east of the City is a 'significant wetland'. Laura and I can vouch for this - neither of us have ever been caught in a heavier downpour! Much nicer when the sun came back out.
Gananoque, Ontario
Posted by Richard on Tuesday 21st December 2010 at 07:21 PM
On another day trip from Ottawa, we headed south to the St Lawrence River and Gananoque, gateway to the Thousand Islands. More stunning scenery and this time we had our trunks!
Ottawa, Ontario

On our last full day we headed into Ottawa to see the sites again. Did a complete circuit on foot, crossing into Quebec via the Portage Bridge and returning over the Alexandra Bridge. Must have taken 50 photos of Parliament Hill!
Chez Debbie and Bill

And finally ... thanks to Debbie and Bill for looking after us on the Candian leg of our tour. Great to see your 'new' house at last!
