Meeting up with Mark

Our main reason for coming to Italy was to celebrate Mark's 21st Birthday. We were a few days late, but with constant changes to his tour schedule, we were glad we got to see him at all.
From Duomo to Arena

We stayed in a
great apartment off of Via Cadrega in the heart of the historic old town. We crisscrossed the city taking in the sights, making use of our VeronaCard whenever possible.
Castelvecchio and more

On our second full day, we visited more of the historic sights. Like the Duomo, the Basilica di San Zeno dates back to the 12th century. Castelvecchio and Sant'Anastasia are relative newcomers, both completed in the 14th century!
Malcesine on Lake Garda

Macesine is a picture-postcard town on the shores of Lake Garda. We stayed for two nights at the splendid
Hotel San Marco within yards of the small harbour.
Monte Baldo

Monte Baldo is the ridge of mountains that rise from the eastern shore of Lake Garda to over 2000m. We had considered walking up, but the cable car was probably the more sensible option.
