Scottish Highlands (May 2001) Posted by Richard on Tuesday 1st January 2002 at 12:00 AM
This was a whistlestop tour of the Highlands to meet up with old friends (and to make some new ones). Mairi and Derek live in Culbokie by Dingwall on the Black Isle, a few miles north of Inverness. Their view over the Cromarty Firth towards Ben Wyvis is stunning. So like the view from our own kitchen window ... NOT!
The kids (and big kids) thoroughly ejoyed our trip to the Landmark Forest Heritage Park which stands in 30 acres of ancient pine wood, seven miles north of Aviemore. And Loch Ness was beautiful - according to the national newspapers, Nessie had been spotted the day before, but she kept her head down during our visit.
