Prague (October 2013)
Posted by Richard on Thursday 7th August 2014 at 11:39 AM

Part two of our two-city break to Berlin and Prague - Hugh and Deanne have already been in Prague for three years, but I'm sure they didn't expect us to take them up on their 'come and stay' offer!

Thoroughly enjoyed the train journey down from Berlin, and our four days in and around the Czech capital. Thanks to H&D for their terrific hospitality.

Most of our first day was spent in and around Prague Castle. St Vitus's Cathedral was splendid, and the views over the city were excellent. Click here to view this Page

On day 2, we headed back to Malostranske Namesti and walked to the Old Town via the Charles Bridge and the Jewish Quarter. The memorial to holocaust victims and the exhibition of children's drawings from Terezín, in the Pinkas Synagogue, was incredibly moving. Click here to view this Page

On day 3 (Saturday), after a very nice brunch in a bookshop(!), we headed out of the city to visit the impressive Karlstejn Castle. Click here to view this Page

On our last day in Prague, we saw some sun for the first time in our 9 day vacation. We headed up to Petrin Hill, and enjoyed the fantastic autumnal shades and the views over the city. Click here to view this Page
