Camino Day 3: 22.3 miles. This was our longest and hardest day - with a couple of long climbs and a bit too much walking on the roadsides - and it hardly stopped raining! (Hence, not too many photos).
We knew this was going to be a real rural stretch, so we picked up our lunch from a bakery before leaving Betanzos. Persistence did get us in for a drink and some monkey nuts at Bar Julia - pretty much the only sign of civilisation for miles around. From a long way out, we targeted Hospital de Bruma as a likely spot for our next beer stop, but apart from the Albergue there was nothing there ... and we still had 4 miles to go. :-(
Never been so happy to arrive somewhere as when we finally reached the Casa Rural Dona Maria - great accommodation and a fabulous meal, including our first sight of vegetables in almost a week!
