Having completely failed to get tickets for any of the Olympic events, Adam and I made the most of a freebie...
The Men's Road Race, on the opening day, went through Ripley before heading for nine loops around Box Hill. The atmosphere was terrific and the expectation for a British victory was high. The five Brits were well placed at the head of the peloton, just a few minutes behind the leaders, as they shot past us. Unfortunately, they were still a few minutes behind when they reached The Mall!
Cycling success followed in bucket loads, but still feel a little sorry for 'Cav'...
